Alandeveloped an interest in writing items over 30 years ago with presents of pens and after using these for about 10 years decided that it would be a good idea to encourage others to use proper writing equipment. This manifested itself as a business trading in writing equipment and for 20 years ABC Lloyd has been providing classic and vintage pens to collectors all over the UK. Alan has a private passion and passion may well be an understatement for inkwells and old accessories for writing as it was practiced 200 years ago. He can regularly be seen in the Stramongate shop polishing his beloved inkwells and pens, but also available to offer advice to experienced and beginner collectors.
Brenda is the catalyst and controller of the business. Apart from a personal enthusiasm for porcelain and pottery she is the administrative foundation of the business and has to work extremely hard to curb Alan's enthusiasm for buying 'the world'.
